안녕하세요, family and friends. Today we’re going to read Genesis 24.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a copy of the bible. You can read it on page 2 of this post.
There are three things or lessons we can take away from this passage about Abraham’s servant and his search for Isaac’s wife.
If you’re ever uncertain with what you should do next the key is to pray. Pray and ask the Lord whatever it is you want to know. You can even ask to make things clearer to you, much like what Abraham’s servant did.
Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’ – let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this, I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”Genesis 24:12-14 NIVhttps://bible.com/bible/111/gen.24.12-14.NIV
It’s a simple and absolutely doable task, to ask God in prayer and to receive what you’ve sought for.
The second lesson is to obey his orders. It’s a two-way street you see, as long as you obey God’s will he will help you decipher anything you seek.
The final lesson from today’s passage is that God gives us the people we need. There are many reasons why God places us in people’s lives and vice versa. One of those is to give comfort whilst others are going through rough roads. We see one example of this with Isaac.
Isaac brought her (Rebekah) into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her, and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s deathGenesis 24:67 NIV https://genesis.bible/genesis-24-67
