Genesis 29

안녕하세요, family and friends. Today we’re going to read Genesis 29.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible. You can read the chapter on page 2 of this blog post.

There are two lessons we can take from this passage. One of which is to honour the laws or practices of the land we are in. This is very relatable today because many are wanting to go against Government authorities in regards to social distancing and quarantine.

So, this chapter is a reminder for us to follow the regulations we are given, especially in this time. The pandemic, though declining and vaccines are becoming available, is still not fully understood.

The second lesson we can take from this passage is that God hears our cries. Especially those oppressed, lonely and weak. As is shown with Rachel, Isaac’s first wife.

And again she (Rachel) conceived and bore a son, and she said, “Because the Lord heard that I was treated with contempt, he has also given this one to me.” And she called his name Simeon.

We should be confident in presenting our worries to the Lord God for he is the only one who can help us. He can also send whatever blessing we need, all we need to do is ask.
