Job 42

안녕하세요, family and friends. Today we’re reading Job 42.

Firstly, I want to say Happy Monday and I hope that all of you are well rested, and ready for the week ahead. Also, I wanted to remind you that there are no Devotional posts on the seventh day of the week. And that’s why all Devotional, Days divisible by seven is usually skipped.

Now, as always don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.

This passage is again a reminder,

…that God can do all things, and there are a lot in the world that we don’t understand.

Though science and the Bible have done their fair share of justifications on how the world is as it is. Both science and the Bible do not come close to what our God can comprehend. Job acknowledges this, and I believe that we should too.

“I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you.

Job 42:2 NLT

Another thing we can take away from this passage is that we should be honest with our shortcomings and iniquities.

I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

Job 42:6 NLT

We should pray not only for ourselves or the people we love, but also those who may not have done us good and have talked bad about us. So, though they have done wrong, they can still be saved from the raging eyes of the Lord.

So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.”

Job 42:8 NLT

Last but not the least, whatever God takes away from us, be sure to remember and have faith that he could give it back to us two-folds. Just as He did for Job.

So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.

Job 42:12 NLT
