Exodus 12

안녕하세요, family and friends. Today we’re going to read Exodus 12

Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.

This passage is all about the Celebration of the Unleavened Bread and the Lord’s Pass Over. Although, many of the practices here are not being practiced today like…

“Take special care of this chosen animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of this first month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel must slaughter their lamb or young goat at twilight. They are to take some of the blood and smear it on the sides and top of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the animal.

Exodus 12:6‭-‬7 NLT

We still honour this covenant with God before Jesus Christ was born and to appreciate that Christianity and Catholicism derived from Judaism. Also, to understand that Jesus himself was a faithful Jew who obediently followed the Lord’s commands.

At the same time, this passage reiterates the importance of God’s covenant with Abraham (which we talked about in Devotional, Day 6 | Genesis 17) which, to this day is still practiced by our Jewish brothers and sisters.
