안녕하세요, family and friends. Today we’re reading Exodus 18.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.
This chapter tells us that we shouldn’t be afraid to tell others about our experiences with God – how God’s glory helped us through hard times – because through our stories we can inspire others to have faith in God and be saved.
“Praise the Lord ,” Jethro said, “for he has rescued you from the Egyptians and from Pharaoh. Yes, he has rescued Israel from the powerful hand of Egypt! I know now that the Lord is greater than all other gods, because he rescued his people from the oppression of the proud Egyptians.”

At the same time, this chapter reminds us of the origin for our justice system. An organisation that splits its duties in a variety of specific ranks; the sharing of power and justice.
Teach them God’s decrees, and give them his instructions. Show them how to conduct their lives. But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten. They should always be available to solve the people’s common disputes, but have them bring the major cases to you. Let the leaders decide the smaller matters themselves. They will help you carry the load, making the task easier for you.
