Leviticus 10

안녕하세요, family and friends. Today, we’re going to read Leviticus 10.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible or have not read this chapter before. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.

Churches and chapels are holy places where we worship and hear the word of the Lord. When we’re praying and the presence of the Lord is with us, we should also be present.

Going to church and attending mass just to socialise; being attentive to anything that is keeping your life busy instead of paying attention to the word of God – these are things that we should avoid doing when we’re at Church. Likewise, when we’re talking to another person, it is disrespectful and unreasonable to be disengaged in what they’re saying.

Picture this. You are in a conversation with someone who is really important to you.

Now, imagine you are telling a story to this important person. However, instead of listening to you they start talking to the person next to them or divert their attention to their phone. What would you feel?

Disrespected? Annoyed?

That’s why, as much as possible, it is best to be present when you attend mass or participate in a bible study. Listen and really understand what the word of the Lord is saying.

When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.

  1. I totally agree with you! When you’re in a place, especially a mass and church in general, remember the main goal. It is definitely rude to have a side conversation during that time, it can wait until the end. Thank you for speaking out on this!!

    1. That’s really good! I actually feel called out as I was writing this devotional because I sometimes find myself doing something else when my family and I are praying the rosary.

    2. It happens. I know for me, I feel the spirit more in music and not really sermons, so I tend to slip into my phone when the preacher starts the sermon, but I try not to stay in it as long or as often because I want to get into the habit of listening.

    3. Ahhh, same for me too! Worship songs are the best in getting me to be present and solo prayers. That is one habit that many lacks but we all should learn to practice😊 I know, I need to work on that too. Thank you again
