Psalm 40

안녕하세요, family and friends. Today, we’re going to read Psalm 40.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible or have not read this chapter before. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.

The bible tells us to be understanding of the poor and the needy. We don’t know what kind of lives they’re leading. For example, here in the Philippines it is not unheard of to hear stories of syndicates handling beggars. Most of the time they use children to attract more people into giving them money.

On the one hand, giving money to these beggars may be helping the syndicates instead of the beggars themselves. However, I get compelled into giving away my spare change anyway, knowing that it could also help them. We don’t know how they are treated, especially when they don’t hit a certain “quota” for the day. I wince even just thinking about it. Thus, I try to give them spare change when I have them, food or something to drink.

I want to encourage all of us to do the same no matter where you are in the world. We need more helping hands, especially in this age when most are too selfish or greedy. Also, give as much as your heart tells you, don’t expect something in return and please don’t do it if you have the need to take a picture or video yourself.
