안녕하세요, family and friends. Today, we’re going to read Leviticus 16.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible or have not read this chapter before. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.
Much like the other chapters within the Old Testament, this chapter talks about the sacrifices and burnt offerings given for the forgiveness of sins. It seems a bit unrelated to our lives nowadays, if we see it at face value.
However, it does relate to us because Jesus Christ was our ultimate sacrifice. He sacrificed himself for the forgiveness of our sins and the world, so that we didn’t have to offer lambs or other livestock to atone for our sins. We only have to believe that Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for us to be forgiven.
In the new testament, we are only given two commandments:
But he said to him: “What is written in the law? How do you read it?” In response, he said: “You shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart, and from your whole soul, and from all your strength, and from all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him: “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
