Numbers 31

안녕하세요, family and friends. Today we’re reading the Numbers 31.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of the Bible. You can read it on Page 2 of this blog post.

This passage was a hard one to crack for me. I had to re-read it and search for explanations even though it my Bible already has a short commentary in it.

“how dangerous it was for the Israelites to marry or go near women of pagan nations”

From the CCB Version

My understanding of it is that we shouldn’t associate ourselves with those of other religion because it’s dangerous. However, I may be wrong in this.

I know that the book of Numbers is part of The Old Testament and perhaps, what happened in this chapter was only really applicable during those times. As different religion or pagan nations is a whole world’s different from Christianity.

In this day and age, it’s not just other pagan nations* that we have to be wary of. There are some who follows the same beliefs and teaching as us, and still be completely backwards.
