Today’s readings 10th January 2021: Isaiah 42:1-4,6-7, Acts 10:34-38
In today’s reading, I believe that God is reminding us of our freedom of choice. To choose to be, live and love like Him, Jesus Christ.
“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
As human beings, we all have the freedom to choose which path we want to take. Our beliefs and actions are all ran inevitably by ourselves. Religions and other spiritual beliefs are there only as a guide. As Catholics, we are taught that love is in everything and love is God.
So, what does that actually entail?
Well, there are different types of love which I have talked about before but each one has the same basics. A minimum requirement, justice.
Don’t speak of love without justice. Justice is the minimum requirement for love. Beyond justice is love.
Father Orbos
Justice. Equity. Humility. Love requires us to be respectful of others, with their choices and their achievements. Giving credit where credit is due and refusing to let selfishness to overcome your being.
Being grateful for everything that you have right now and everyone in your life who has helped you get to where you are now. If everything is smooth-sailing be thankful. If you’re somehow stuck be thankful.
Everything happens for a reason and every day has its own silver lining. It’s just that sometimes you have to search a little deeper to find it.
We can’t find the right answer all the time. Never stop asking why we should live and what we should live for. The moment you stop our romance will end too.

Oh wow, this post is super. Justice is a requirement for love – I have not thought concretely about this but you are very right.
I really love how I got you to think of it in that way, too! Thank you so much.
